Please Pray for a friends little guy...

Lukas 3 1/2…was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He will start treatment in the morning 06-17-10. The tests are showing signs in his bones and all over his body. His Mom Emily has given me permission to post his picture and to ask for prayer everywhere I can in hopes for as much prayer as possible. This is all of the info I have right now and she has said she will keep everyone updated as she can. Please also be praying for Emily for strength, guidance, courage and protection for her heart.

UPDATE 7/20/2010
Lukas is doing well. He is tolerating his treatments as well as expected. He is home and doing well. He did have to go into the local hospital for a transfusion as his red blood cells were low, but was realeased. They were greatful to not have to go back up to Portland for this and to stay local. They are settling into their new place, closer to family and just taking one day at a time. I am not sure when they go back up to Portland for the next treatment but will try to find out. Here is a picture of him being naughty...LOL

He used a whole roll of tape to tape up his hand and was quite proud of himslef as you can see. Oh and they opted to shave his hair rather than wait as it was falling out anyway. Isn't he a cutie pie!??? Couldn't you just pinch his cheeks Smile

Please continue to cover them in prayer.

UPDATE 6/22/2010
From Lukas's Mom-- Lukas had an allergic reaction to some antibiotics and has a horrible rash all over his body Sad

poor baby, at the moment he is soaking in wash cloths with water and oatmeal socked in them hoping it will take away the itchies! He is such a wonderful boy, i love him dearly and pray for the best!....

I have heard that he is refusing his meds at times, so they are working on that. Please cover Emily--Mom as she is so stressed and dealing with an "absent father" and some family drama at this time. As many have experienced when things like this happen "everyone" has an opinion on how things should be handled. Emily has her own way and needs prayer not interference.

UPDATE 6/20/2010

From Lukas's Mom--Lukas is doing really good with his chemo, he has no side effects yet which is great! On the first day he did have to get a transfusion but that is to be expected! He is such a strong boy, I love you Lukas...

I have heard that since the day he was admitted to the hospital he was unable to walk or sit up...only lay down. Since his treatment began he is able to sit up and play a bit in the play room at the hospital. One of the largest tumors is on his hip so it was painful to walk and sit up... What a blessing to see him UP now and doing..."kid stuff" Smile

Thank you ALL so much! She is a young Mom and has had many trials in her young life. She is going to need just as much prayer as Lukas to get through this and to come out the other side WITH her faith.

I have friends whose son had neuroblastoma dxed at about 16-18 months. He is now a happy healthy Ten year old!!! Send me a pm if you'd like to get her in touch with them. Praying like crazy...
